Barber unLimiTeD Overdrive Pedal - Limited Edition Pedal

The unLimiTeD is a higher gain version of the LTD SR, we add the midrange-content control to allow sweeping through the sounds of different LTD versions and slightly beyond. This is a dual channel version that allows a single circuit to have two drive and volume controls that are foot-switchable. This is a limited edition, we are nearing the end of production of this exceptional sounding medium gain drive.

Barber LTD SR (Special Recipe) - Custom Shop Overdrive Pedal
 
The LTD SR came about when " yet another early beta LTD" came to our attention from a good friend and excellent player/listener. Our "beta friend" asked for a clone of his early beta LTD to have as a backup for traveling, after listening to and cloning his beta LTD we realized what a nice voice this version LTD posessed...so, the custom shop has made this cool third LTD version available for players seeking a "flatter voiced" LTD...very faithful to your guitar and amp's unprocessed spectrum.

The LTD SR has a nearly flat response when the tone control is dead center, even flatter than our Silver LTD, yet the tone control on the SR is very strong for players who need more powerful eq options from their mild sweet toned overdrive. The LTD SR includes internal trim pots for bass and presence to help dial in perfect matching tone to your bypass sound. The LTD SR is hand built, tuned and tested by Ronni in our Baltimore B-Custom shop. B-Custom reprents the highest quality guitar effects available today, and at a price that is clearly competitive with massively inferior mass produced pedals.

Barber Direct Drive Low Gain - Custom Shop Pedal

The Direct Drive LG is a “supremely vintage sounding” version of the Direct Drive. This smooth and sweet version of the Direct Drive was born from a custom order in our B-custom shop. We took the challenge to devise a gain structure that would keep the cool British character of the Direct Drive, while dialing the sound in to that classic early era of days gone by when British amps had tube rectification and a sweeter presentation that delivered dynamics and tone; over gain, volume and crunch. Ronni took the custom shop treatment a step further with some nice grey knobs and Green LED to offset the new cool character of this tone connoisseur’s version of the classic Direct Drive. 

All the snarl, but clearer and even sweeter with a low gain structure for the “dialed in dynamics player” 

Ronni builds each Direct Drive LG by hand and fine tunes them before they leave the custom shop…

A remarkable Tonal Breakthrough, How We did it:

In research and development, Barber studied the problems associated with classic guitar compressors and their recent clones and found that, while the clone-makers build pedals with improved components (cleaner switching, in particular) and matched transistors, a few of the major drawbacks of those “vintage” designs still exist. The most glaring drawback of popular classic compressors is that they reverse the guitar’s phase and they cause a “pop” that squashes the attack at the beginning of every note. Although we now see some compression units that have attack controls, they leave a bit to be desired as they require seemingly endless trial and error tweaking , and still no true solution to gracefully removing the pop.

Parallel compression is the solution. a Barber innovation that blows away having to deal with attack, ratio and release knobs of other so-called "studio compressors." Barber developed a one-of-a-kind proprietary continuous “blend control” circuit, and combined it with a discrete “Class A” FET mixer circuit to allow you to continuously blend the natural signal of your carefully selected guitar with a “phase-corrected” classic compression circuit. There is also a nice Color control on the board to adjust the tone if needed. The result? What guitar players have always wanted, unaltered attack and supernatural sustain and resonance. No studio engineering degree required.
