Guitar Repairs

Our shop can handle about 95% of common guitar repairs in-store with 3 business days.

We have found that for custom parts is the slowest part of the process.  From neck adjustments to restrings for both acoustic and electric pickup installations - we truly can do it all at our store in just a few business days.  Seasonally, guitar finishing is offered with premium nitrocellulose paint finishes just like the classic instruments from the sixties.

Below are some of the common repairs and our bench rates:

• Restring of a 6 string acoustic or electric guitar (non-locking) - $10.00 plus strings
• Restring of a 4 or five string bass - $12.00 plus strings
• Restring a mandolin or banjo - $10.00 plus strings
• Restring of a classical/nylon stringed guitar - $12.00 plus strings
• Restring of a locking nut/ bridge system electric guitar (Floyd Rose/ Kahler bridge) - $30.00 plus strings

Restringing an instrument includes the following:

• A thorough cleaning and polishing of the instrument
• Fret polishing as needed
• Fret board conditioning on rosewood and ebony fret boards
• Thorough stretching of the strings
• Tuned to the tuning of your choice
• Inspection for other potential concerns with your instrument and advice to maintain the instrument

We stock most common strings at our store, but if you are on a tight schedule, call ahead and make sure that we have your string brand in stock so we can have your strings available.

We do estimates for any labor intensive work, and also offer guitar appraisal for a small fee.  For more in-depth repair jobs, our rate is billed at $45.00 per hour.  We do not stretch out repair time as we would rather you leave with a better impression of the shop and told your friends where you get your equipment maintained.

Amplifier Repairs

Here at Stonegrove, we know that equipment failure-no matter how it may happen-is very disappointing! 

Fear no more: We are here to help get your parts serviced.

We can do some amplifier repair in-shop. As far as out-of-shop manufacturer repairs go, we work with a reputable Chicagoland company. We trust them to have items serviced quickly and thoroughly.

From new tubes for your vintage Twin Reverb or Deluxe Reverb, to getting a new switch put into an effects pedal, we can help you get your equipment back in working order!

All electronic repairs have a $40.00 estimate fee that is due upon equipment drop-off.  This fee covers all estimate fees that our out-of-shop company charges for estimates. This covers their truck charge to have equipment looked at to give estimates. It is the charge Stonegrove receives from the Electronics Service.
